Ondemand governor is switched on automatically

I did a reinstall of Linux on my Laptop (a ThinkPad x61s). Since I am not a fan of Unity and the new flavors of KDE I decided to give Xubuntu (12.04) a try. I have to say that I am quite happy. I just realized one thing: when ever I did a reboot, the governor for the CPU frequency was set to ‘performance’ instead of ‘ondemand’. I was googling around and somebody said that the governor is switched to ‘ondemand’ 60s after booting up. I checked it and it is really true! What an intelligent thing to do.
